#72 TEFL Course Completed!

I completed my TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) on Saturday. I started doing the course about a month ago and committed to cover a section every day, no matter how little I could do for the day. Bit by bit I chipped away at the sections and on 14 September 2019 I completed the course.

The course consists of the following eight modules:
  1. Introduction to EFL
  2. Classroom Management
  3. Teaching Language Skills
  4. Teaching Materials and Aids
  5. Curriculum Planning
  6. Grammar
  7. More Language: Lexis, Functions, Phonology
  8. Testing
I look forward to receiving my TEFL certificate. It'll be a wonderful and meaningful birthday pressie from Mr. Bear who gifted me with the course!

TEFL books I bought in 2015. I've been thinking about it for a very long time.

What's next? My learning journey continues. Many of you will know that I can't sit still, and I will always be looking for mini projects to embark on and new things to learn. I have signed up for:
  1. The 'Secrets of Swedish Writing' course. It's a course for those who want to improve their written Swedish and it'll be led by Daniel Lind. The course starts on 19 September and finishes 16 October (4.5 weeks only).
  2. Chinese for HSK course offered on Coursera under the Learn Chinese: HSK Test Preparation Specialization (Level 1 to 3) by Peking University. I've always wanted to be able to read and write Chinese and I hope after the completion of this course, I will be able to do so proficiently. I have not decided if I want to get myself HSK-certified but I definitely want to be literate in the language.
