ITALIANISSIMO 2014 Annual Book Binge: Mission Accomplished!

Following my Pablo Neruda book acquisitions last Friday (read post here), I continued my book hunt with my favorite online bookseller, BetterWorldBooks.com.

This time, my personal theme is ITALIANISSIMO so I set out over the weekend on the mission to enhance my personal library with books on Italy, Italian Renaissance, Italian Renaissance artists (Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci), travel writings about Italy (classics by D. H. Lawrence, Charles Dickens, Henry James Jr., etc.; modern writings by Tim Parks, Michael Tucker, Chris Brady, Frances Mayes, etc.), Renaissance art references, and well, everything Italian!

Here's a snapshot of my 2014 Annual Book Binge with focus on Italy!

I can't wait to get my hands on some of the books, especially Ross King's Leonardo and the Last Supper, Brunelleschi's Dome: How a Renaissance Genius Reinvented Architecture, and Michelangelo & the Pope's Ceiling. They cost only US$2.50 (further discounted from their sale price of US$3.98 each).

My most expensive purchase by far from my Annual Book Binge is the The Romance Languages by Martin Harris and Nigel Vincent. The book costs me US$27.98 (Amazon hardcover price is about $400 and digital $34.49). I think it's an awesome deal!

Before I go, here's why I buy from BetterWorldBooks.com and I buy used books from them. I encourage you to do the same too. Used books are well-loved books and they have character! I've been buying from them since 2008 (at that time free delivery was not yet offered) and the deal now gets sweeter because they deliver worldwide for free! Besides giving the books another chance and life, it's definitely a win-win because you gain from very affordable (and sometimes hard-to-find) books and you help world literacy at the same time!

Happy reading, my friends!
