My "Project Polyglot"

Sometime August last year, I mentioned about starting on Spanish after dedicating almost a year of self-study to Italian. I’m sorry to say Spanish didn’t happen because I was still very much engrossed with Italian, and wasn’t willing to stop.

This year, starting the second quarter of 2014, I have once again decided that it is time to pursue other languages in addition to Italian, which is my first (foreign language) love. Never in my life have I ever pursued something so persistently and consistently, and with so much passion. Italian literally took most of my waking hours whenever I’m not at work or sleeping. I’m in love with the language and the country!

My game-plan for this year is to study one language for three months and then move on to another one for another three months, and so on. By the end of 2014, I should have covered German, Spanish and French. For these languages, I intend to have enough working knowledge of them to be able to know their peculiarities, how they sound and I want to be able to read in those languages. I’m not aiming for native fluency, unlike my passion for Italian.

Beyond 2014, I have outlined the languages I intend to learn and you will be able to see them on the sidebar of my blog under the section My Study Schedule.

I look forward to sharing my learning experiences with you!
