Inspirational Quote of the Day

"All courses of action are risky, so prudence is not in avoiding danger (it’s impossible), but calculating risk and acting decisively. Make mistakes of ambition and not mistakes of sloth. Develop the strength to do bold things, not the strength to suffer." —Niccolò Machiavelli (The Prince)

Turning "Battles" into Choices

This is going to be a daily choice, not a daily battle. —LYSA TERKEURST

This certainly rings true for every endeavor in our lives. For me, eating right is a battle. So is exercising. And waking up early to meditate. There are so many temptations to do what’s easier. Doing the right thing seems like a battle if our mindset is not right. When I read this quote by Terkeurst, I had a revelation. It seems less daunting if I turn them into a CHOICE.

  • I choose to exercise.
  • I choose to meditate.
  • I choose to be happy.
  • I choose not to eat junks.
  • I choose to practice yoga.
  • I choose to blog daily.

See? It doesn’t have to be hard. Once I’ve made my choices, I action on them.

  • I exercise.
  • I meditate.
  • I am happy.
  • I eat foods that make me strong and help me build muscles for a toned body.
  • I practice yoga.
  • I just made this post.

I will choose my battles carefully and win this war!

  1. I read her book Unglued earlier this year and am now reading Made to Crave. Good stuff. Sometimes that subtle shift in mindset makes a big difference.
