Mailbox Monday: My Latest Bookish Collection

My latest acquisition from Kinokuniya KLCC.

It's Monday and I'm happy to announce that I invested in two books for my Italian self-study. I was home in Kuala Lumpur last weekend and didn't miss the chance to visit my all-time favorite bookstore, Kinokuniya. Here's what I bought:

  • Streetwise Italian: Dictionary/Thesaurus (9780071430708) by Nicholas Albanese, Giovanni Spani, Philip Balma, Ermanno Conti
Back cover: Frustrated by Italian slang? No need to calare le brache (pull down one's pants—surrender), chiudere bottega (to close up shop—to give up), or perdere le staffe (to lose the stirrups—lose one's temper). With this book, you can trovare l'America (discover America—find happiness). Inside you will find just the right expression you are looking for instantly. And whimsical illustrations get the message across with laugh-out-loud humor.
  • Webster's New World 575+ Italian Verbs (9780471748298) by Laura Soave
Back cover: Whether you're a businessperson who wants to talk the talk, a future tourist, or a student trying to master Italian, Webster's New World 575+ Italian Verbs is the only verb reference you need. This practical resource lists verbs alphabetically and includes examples demonstrating the meaning and function of the verbs to ensure that you know how to use them correctly!

  HAPPY READING, EVERYONE!
