Alice Reads: Teaser Tuesdays (A Discovery of Witches)

Here's the first Teaser Tuesdays of the new year (and one day late)! I started reading A DISCOVERY OF WITCHES (ISBN: 9780143119678) since November last year but have yet to finish it due to vacation. I am now halfway through the novel at page 360 (it's a really thick book with 720 pages). Here's my teaser from page 358:

Before I met Matthew, there didn't seem to be room in my life for a single additional element—especially not something as significant as a fifteen-hundred-year-old vampire. But he'd slipped into unexplored, empty places when I wasn't looking.
