Alice Reads: The Italian Reading Challenge 2013

Auguri a tutti! Buon capodanno e felice 2013!

Greetings to all! Happy New Year and happy 2013!

I wish everyone a wonderful and blessed start of the year. I have ended 2012 with simplicity and reflection, spending time with family and thinking about my life, thinking about how to make it a better one in 2013. It will be a year of challenges, but I know the rainbow always comes out after the storm. I will persevere and look for ways.

While waiting upon and working on my medium to long-term goals, I have lined up some short-term ones (the long-hanging fruits) for my enjoyment. One of them is my personal project and it's called The Italian Reading Challenge. I will begin 2013 with this...

Please feel free to use this button that I've created if you'd like to participate in the Italian adventure.

There are no rules, there are no limitations. My idea is to enjoy Italy in the process (reading and all), and do what we booklovers love to do: soak in and absorb every single word, and talk about our experience. YOU ARE INVITED TO JOIN ME! The books you choose to read could be set in Italy, about Italy, or even written in Italian. If you're joining, please drop your name into Mr. Linky below, so that we can cheer each other on!

Here's what I have selected but the list is not exhaustive; I will add additional titles as and when I finish reading them.

  1. Catch-22
  2. Lavinia
  3. A Room with a View
  4. Romeo and Juliet
  5. Othello
  6. Julius Caesar
  7. The Merchant of Venice
  8. Much Ado About Nothing
  9. Il Pentamerone: The Tale of Tales
  10. Me and You - to be purchased
  11. The Tempest
  12. The Taming of the Shrew

  1. A Short History of Italy (476-1900) - Kindle edition
  2. 100 Places in Italy Every Woman Should Go - Kindle edition
  3. La Bella Lingua - Kindle edition
  4. How to Think Like Leonardo da Vinci
  5. The Monster of Florence
  6. Ciao Bella [Read; no review]

Happy reading, i miei amici!
