Wordless Wednesday: The Khoo Kongsi Kitchen

It's Wednesday once again and that calls for another post for Wordless Wednesday. For those who are familiar with the Khoo Kongsi in Penang, yes, this is the kitchen area of one of the most distinctive Chinese clan associations in Malaysia. I've done quite a few posts on Khoo Kongsi, so please click here to see more of the story, the carvings, the structure, and so on.

This is a replica of the old red bricks Chinese kitchen with open wood stoves.

Isn't this pretty? I loved the floral patterns on it.

This stone grinder (I'm not sure of its exact name), is HUGE and HEAVY. I could barely moved it when I tried to. I wonder how the folks back then worked it.

  3. Gorgeous -- the colors are fabulous, and your shots are great! I love a mortar and pestle like the one in your last shot. In fact, I just got one (a much, much smaller version!) for Christmas.
