A Day of Outing with Good Friends

First, let me wish all my Muslim friends, Selamat Hari Raya!

Today is a public holiday because of Raya, and also a great day of meeting up and hanging out with friends. Irene was my designated driver (thank you, Irene!) and together we went to 1-Utama for our gathering. Desmond and Maine were already there, and—surprise, surprise—Kah Yaen a.k.a Kiwi came too! As always, we had loads of fun. Our initial plan was to have lunch at Delicious, but after spending some time at Coffee Bean waiting for it to be opened, we decided to go to another place. We ended up at New York New York Deli.

We ordered these and the bill came to about MYR99 (US$30) for five persons.

That was Round One. After the nice meal, we went window shopping for a while to "walk off" the calories. I am proud of myself because I managed to restrain me from stepping into the bookstore and go crazy. (HURRAH!)

And now for Round Two. We went to Wong Kok Char Chan Teng, a joint that serves Hong Kong food and treats.

I ordered iced 'ying yong' (a coffee mixed with tea beverage), Irene ordered milk tea and Maine ordered herbal tea (see pic below). That peanut butter toast (top of pic) and dumplings (bottom of pic) were okay. The service, though, was so-so.
All photos were taken using my iPhone.

On reading, I am currently reading a few books including Mockingjay, Savor the Moments (joint-reading with Julia), Let the Right One In (for R.I.P. V Challenge), and The Things They Carried (about a platoon of American soldiers in the Vietnam War). The Mockingjay I ordered arrived in the mail today, so I now have two copies of the book (on Kindle and also the physical copy).

I wish all of you a happy weekend and to all my bookish friends, happy reading!
