Simple Woman's Daybook: The First Post

I've been reading many Simple Woman's Daybook posts at Jen's and decided to do something like that as well. I will post every Monday but for this first one, I made an exception. I feel that doing this helps me enjoy or reflect on the present and plan for the week. I also hope that my book reviews and other bookish posts will resume as normal once I get settled in my new job.

Outside my window. . . I see a storm brewing with heavy, dark clouds passing through, and I hear the sound of strong wind.

I am listening to... the voices of my colleagues around me. I will only hear them until tomorrow before I bid them farewell because of my new job.

I am thinking... what books to take with me for my move to Penang.

I am thankful for... my family, especially my Mom and sister Catherine who have been so helpful with my move. My mom helped sewn table runners, pillow cases, and wall runners. She is also the go-to person when you're organizing a move. My sister drove to Penang from Kuala Lumpur and back, and all around Penang. The landlord in Penang and her friends were friendly and gracious. My final batches of books have arrived at the office today, just a day before I say goodbye tomorrow (my last day at the office). I'm also thankful for author Karen E. Olson's generosity in sending me her ARC of Driven to Inkshe has been sending me all the books in her Tattoo Shop Mystery series and I've enjoyed every one of them!

I am wearing... a maroon knitted top and a pair of black pants.

I am going... the airport after work today to pick up my sister who is returning from Sydney for a short trip before she heads to Singapore for work.

I am currently reading... Summer of My German Soldier by Bette Greene. It's a lovely book.

I am hoping... I would be able to cope with my new role and make many new friends in Penang.

One of my favorite things... the painting of a Chinese girl reading in her garden, done by my Mom.

Few plans for the rest of the week... continue to spruce up my new apartment. I also plan to finish reading Summer of My German Soldier.

I hope you have enjoyed reading the first installment of my Simple Woman's Daybook. Have a wonderful Wednesday, my friends!
