A Speaking Invitation for an Executive PA Forum in 2010

I've been invited AGAIN to speak in an upcoming Executive PA Forum organized by VMAC in March 2010!

This will be my third speaking experience and I'm still feeling the jitters. The first time was the Marcus Evans Executive PA Conference in Kuala Lumpur and the second was the ABF 8th Executive Secretaries and PAs Conference in Singapore, both in 2009. You may wish to take a peek at the presentation material here.

The Forum will be held on 11th and 12th March 2010. My session is on the first day and here's what I'll be speaking on the topic Executing Excellent Non Verbal and Verbal Communication Skills to Avoid Miscommunication (Apprehending the vitality of executing precise and direct communication | Obtaining skills to communicate efficiently in order to salvage situations caused by miscommunication | Exploring different approaches of communication and deciding which approach suits best).

On the panel of speakers (besides Yours Truly) are:
  • Melissa Ong, President, Malaysian Association of Professional Secretaries
  • Hollie Sherriff, PA to Managing Director, Steel Business Briefing UK (Winner of Up and Coming PA Award 2008)
  • Maxine McKendrick, PA to CEO, Tennis Australia (Winner of PA of the Year Award 2009)
  • Nor Afizah binti Sarmin, PA to CEO, Nationwide Courier Express
Trainer Jenni Wright from Emotional Intelligence Adelaide, will be conducting a workshop on the second day.

So off I go again preparing the presentation materials for my topic--time to put on my thinking hat! I'm truly honored to be speaking alongside these distinguished professionals who love what they do. This will also be my second time meeting Melissa in a conference as a speaker.

Another event that is happening and that I will be attending is the Asian Financial Services Congress to be held at the Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore. Check out the agenda here. This means I will be traveling to Singapore from 24th to 28th February. Time to catch up with all my friends again!

2010 kicked off with lots of goodies in store and I'm a happy, happy girl.

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."
