Of Upcoming Joint-Readings and Christmas Goodies

HAPPY NEW YEAR 2010!

What better way to usher in the new year than to immediately have buddy joint-readings lined up to kick-start 2010 AND talk about the goodies I've gotten during Christmas (good things are to be shared!). It took all of my energy not to break my blogging break and so in this post, I have so much to tell you. Here goes...

PART ONE: Joint-readings

A very dear friend of mine and fellow blogger, Julia of Julia's Books Corner, has sent me a package for Christmas and in that package is Bed of Roses, Book Two of the Bride Quartet by Nora Roberts! It is for our joint-reading in January 2010 and I'm so thrilled by this!

And guess what, I sent her the SAME book, which was listed in the latest wish list she forwarded me! This is so exciting because we sent each other the same book that we both will be reading together, which then makes this an extra special event for us. Thank you, Julia!

And now for the second joint-reading. Another dear friend of mine, Rudi Nuissenburg from The Netherlands, has just started blogging (read what got him started here). That's not all, we will also be doing a joint-reading in January 2010 and will read Eckhart Tolle's The Power of Now together!

Do visit Rudi and shower him with some blog love!

PART TWO: Christmas Goodies

I want to thank all my family and friends who had been so generous with their gifts! You guys rock! The strawberry pillow (from my brother John), the book gifts (from Melody), book gift certificates (from my sisters Vivian and Rose), the Starbucks Christmas mug (from my colleague-and-Secret Santa, Izza), and the lovely cards--thank you all!

Last but not least, Courtney, my Secret Santa from Book Blogger Holiday Swap (BBHS) sent me two lovely gifts: a reading journal and I Capture the Castle by Dodie Smith. Thank you, Secret Santa!

This is how the inside of the reading journal looks like. I love it!

Coming up next is the Christmas celebration up in Cameron Highlands with my family. It was a blast. You'd see the one-of-a-kind steamboat cookout we had. So much fun! Stay tuned for more!
