Books I Read in 2009: December

  1. Forget About It by Caprice Crane
  2. Be With You by Takuji Ichikawa
  3. Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
  4. Darkly Dreaming Dexter by Jeff Lindsay
Total books for December 2009: 4
Total books for 2009: 114 (See the entire list)

My prediction in November for lack of reading in December was true. I had indeed read very little due to the holiday seasons. I was down by 15 books in 2009 from 2008's count of 129. I expect the number to drop even further in 2010 because I will be reading less and focusing more on other things, but that does not mean my love for reading has decreased. I also need to work on a lot of overdue book reviews.

I wish all my book blogger friends an even more exciting reading year in 2010!

  1. 114! Wow. Great job. I was determined to beat 100 this year and got to 101.

Happy, happy new year to you.

  2. I personally think it's important to find balance in your life. As much as I enjoy reading too, I don't want it to be the only thing I do when I am not working. I hope you have a wonderful New Year Alice!

  3. Hi Alice,

I haven't read any of your December books. I use to read all of N. Spark's books (and James Patterson too), but stopped reading him about 2 years ago and started reading more new authors.

  5. I read Darkly Dreaming Dexter not too long ago but I never did finish the others in the series.

  6. December definitely took a toll on my reading as well. If I had more time off work I would have read more...oh well...maybe next year!

  8. When we worry about how many books we read at the expense of either the joy of reading or sacrificing living our lives with a balance then it seems to me it is a job, not fun.

I think you had a great year and whatever you read in December is what it is! Happy New Year, Alice. Enjoy!

  9. Thanks, Beth! You accomplished your goal too. That's really great!

Great thoughts, Wendy! I'm aiming for balance too. I will try to read as much as I can but will also incorporate other activities. I think that may be the reason I read slightly less in 2009 than 2008. I was doing quite a bit of photography stuff.

Hi Diane, that's OK. At times, we all need a break from some of our favorite or regular authors.

Thanks, Kailana! :) Happy reading to you too.

Hi Jen, I'm not sure I really like what I read in Darkly Dreaming Dexter. It's not too bad... I have two other books in the series but not sure when I'll continue reading them.

All the best to you this year, Kathleen!

    Same to you, Melody!

    Right on, Wisteria.

    To ALL: HAPPY NEW YEAR!
