When being a girl is not advantageous...

Friends, while my colleagues are zooming off to Gunung Angsi for today's climb, I sit at home writing this post. After all the packing and last minute shopping in anticipation of today's activity, "that time of the month" decides to pay me a surprise visit this morning. *GROAN* Why oh why?

My new hiking shoes bought just yesterday (yes, this is how last minute I am) and I can't use it today! It's a MERRELL.

Note to self: See doc for some magic pills so that this does not happen in the next 3 climbing trips. *Aaaaccck tummy cramp!*

Isn't that just lovely? Definitely go see your doctor. This cannot impede your ultimate goal!

Aw, I'm sorry. That can happen at the most inconvenient times. The shoes are really cool, though, and you're all set with them for the next time.

Yes, yes, go get some magic pill to take the pain away. You don't want to be set back.

Love the new shoes.

That totally stinks!

Thanks, everybody! I'm feeling much better now. I didn't get to wear the shoes for climbing but did "test" it around the house and when I went out during the weekends. I hope you're all having a good weekend!

That is terrible. I love the green color of your shoes. You will definitely need to take some magic pills to avoid this next time around.

Thanks, Catherine! :D

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."
