Books I Read in 2009: October

  1. Airhead: Being Nikki by Meg Cabot
  2. Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier
  3. Skellig by David Almond
  4. Catching Fire by Suzanne Collins
  5. The Ninth Circle by Alex Bell
  6. All the Pretty Girls by J.T. Ellison
Total books for October 2009: 6
Total books for 2009: 98

October was a busy month for me, mostly involved in photography, so that took quite a bit of the time available for me to read. I am also training a bit harder for my Gunung Tahan Expedition next year so that took a chunk off the time as well. But still, I enjoyed what I had managed to read.

My book-buying ban (BBB) is going extremely well and I haven't succumbed to temptation. Yay to me! So that means, there will be NO Mailbox Monday from me until probably January 2010.

  1. Did you enjoy "Rebecca"? It's been sitting on my bedside table for awhile, and I haven't gotten to it yet. I'd be interested to hear your opinion.

  4. You are doing very well with your BBB, Alice! I'm so proud of you. It looks like you read several good books this month. I think six is good too--but then, I usually only read about 5 a month. :-) Have a great week, Alice!

Thank you, Kathy! I had so wanted to fall into temptation. LOL!

Awwwww Sandy! I'll try to give you more pictures. And more book-related posts as well. Will try my best!

Hi Viv, I hope you'll find rest in the midst of all the hecticness.

Thank you, Beth! BBB is hard to do (so many good books out there!) but although hard, it's do-able (with lots of determination). Good luck!

To ALL: Have a fabulous week ahead!

  11. Alice - I think 6 books is great! You're doing wonderful job so keept it up! :) I'm looking forward to reading your review for Rebecca. And when you able to get back to your Monday Mailbox next year, I be sure to be here.

P.S. - How come Black Hills is not listed on this month book reading? Just curious ;)

  12. Thanks, Barbara! It was with great effort. Haha!

Thanks, Julia! Rebecca review is in the queue, coming soon. Black Hills was listed in September. Yep, that was how long ago we did the read-together. :)

  19. Six books a month is a good number because it means you do stuff outside of reading!

Congratulation on your BBB! I went two weeks recently before succumbing to a favorite author's new release
