I'm in deep, deep trouble. It's got to do with my book-buying ban (BBB) and a BIG BAD BOOK SALE! O.M.G. What am I going to do? My heart says GO, GO, BUY, BUY! My head says remember your BBB? If I know myself well, my heart will win.
There will be over 200,000 books and magazines on sale and prices are 70% to 90% off the recommended retail prices for all books! Shoppers will get a free collectible bookmark with any purchase while stocks last, limited to one bookmark per customer.
Date: 26th November to 2nd December 2009
Venue: Level 3, Amcorp Mall (former cinema lot, opposite McDonald’s)
Time: 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Fellow local booklovers, will you be splurging? I'm not sure if I'd be seeing you there, but as I've said, most likely I will succumb. I'm hyperventilating. Argggggh...
P/S: I splurged earlier this year in May for the same Big Bad Book Sale.

ReplyDeleteOooh, I think perhaps the book buying ban shall fall soon! I think Dy has the right idea though. If a book is heavily discounted, it doesn't count in the ban. To walk away from a 90% discount would be criminal.

I hate to encourage you to blow your BBB but this sounds too good to pass up! You've held out for quite some time so maybe a small stack at a steep discount won't hurt?

Hi Sandy Nawrot, my colleague Michael has cleverly turned it around to become "book buying budget" (still BBB) and another colleague imposed a budget on it. So I guess I'm on managing my quest WITHIN the said budget. Not going would be absolutely criminal -- you're right. :)
