Photoshoot with Ray and Catherine: The Park Series

Reading is fun! I'll tell you why in a bit, but before that, here's a some introduction to this post... Two weeks ago, I learned how to shoot in manual mode and last Saturday, I got my sister Catherine to model for me. She gamely agreed. Ray joined in the fun, too, and I got him to model as well. After some thinking, I decided on a theme "Reading at the Park." We picked the TTDI Park and I brought along some books as props. You will see from the photos below that reading is INDEED fun! More photos in my Facebook album.

Ray reading with Cat. Cat's reading Dedication and Ray's reading Cat O' Nine Tales.
Engrossed in Dedication
Enjoying the latest issue of SHAPE magazine
Relaxing on the grass while reading
Taking a short break
A lovely couple enjoying their book (if you scroll towards the bottom of this post, you'll see the "behind-the-scenes" shots)
Ray's reading Nora Roberts's Sea Swept (ah yes, guys read romance too). Cat's holding Dogs and Goddesses by Jennifer Crusie, Anne Stuart, and Lani Diane Rich. If you're concerned about the way Ray's holding the book, don't be, because I was the one asking him to do so. It's an old, old paperback and I had wanted that look for this shot.

One of the more carefree, candid shots
She was looking at Ray's camera when I took this shot

Now that you've caught a glimpse of the above, would you like to see some of the behind-the-scenes shots? They're almost all candids!

Cat goofing around while Ray's super-duper serious. In the third pic, both of them looked as if they're sliding down the slope (I tilted my camera to create that effect).
Ray's handsome profile
He's focusing really, really hard...
Cat using Ray's camera lens as a mirror (very smart!)
Now that the shoot's over, Cat gave a triumphant jump!
Don't forget, there are more photos in my Facebook album!

I had so much fun doing this! Cat really made this shoot really, really easy because she's a natural in front of the camera. Ray was very sporting too when he was asked to model for some of the couple shots. Thank you, both of you!

The next series of photos are from the SEPANG GOLDCOAST batch, also shot in the evening of the same day. Stay tuned!

  1. You are right, she is a natural (I don't know what she does for a living, but she could do modelling full time!). And you are an excellent photographer with a good eye for what works. I love it! I want more pictures!
