Of Awards and a Fitness Challenge

First thing first, a BIG thank-you to Melody of Melody's Reading Corner for passing on the following awards to me:

My Top Blog Commenters Award
Super Comments Award
(This is the second time I've received this award. The first time was in May this year.)

To express my gratitude to all my friends who are always so encouraging with their comments, I pass both the awards to:
Note: The names in Italics indicates that I've passed the second award (Super Commenter Award) to them earlier in May, and now is the second time, because they're just too nice!

Trish of Trish's Reading Nook is hosting an exercise challenge called the 100 Mile Fitness Challenge. I first saw this at Sandy Nawrot's (thanks, Sandy!), and then at Beth F's this morning.

To complete this Challenge, you will need to “travel” 100 miles from October 1st through December 31st, which is also its main objective.

Read about how to calculate your mileage, workout stipulations, and other important information here. Let's motivate each other toward a healthy and fit us!

P/S: I have started exercising regularly about two weeks ago and since this is the case, I thought why not kill two birds with one stone? Participating in this challenge will make my workout more fun!

Congrats on the award! You are a wonderful commenter! I am so glad you are jumping on the bandwagon with the Fitness Challenge. I told my husband about it last night, and I think he was pleasantly surprised that the blogging world lured me into something besides books! (P.S. Hope you are enjoying Rebecca!)

Thanks so much for joining the fitness challenge! Have you added your name to the linky yet? I've been using the sign up names to add to the participant list on the side bar and might have missed you.

Thanks, Sandy! You made me blush... I think you're a great commenter too. I just noticed how active you are on some of my favorite blogs. Bless you! I'm glad we're all exercising together in the 100 Mile Fitness Challenge! LOL your husband. I'm totally enjoying Rebecca. :)

Thanks, Kathy! You have been such a great friend. I have BBAW to thank for!

Hi Viv! Superfit is a GREAT word! Christmas food, come ye, for we are not worried!

Hey Beth, oh yes... we're so walking together!

Hi Lenore, I hope you'll join in too!

You're most welcome, Violet! I hope you'll do it too. :D

My pleasure, Trish! I couldn't seem to find the linky but did drop a comment in your post. I'm totally enjoying myself working out and climbing up some stairs (18 floors) in the office, although a short burst of activity is not counted.

My pleasure, Barbara!

Thanks, Carol! I'm sure you can... :)

Thanks, Wendi! I'll pop by. :)

I'll add your name to the linky--with my husband's computer Linky doesn't show, so maybe yours is the same? No worries.

Walking stairs is GREAT exercise. I work on the 16th floor, so in attempts to get miles in I'll get to work early and walk up, down and up and that takes about 15 minutes. Since it's working--I count it. I just didn't want people counting strolling through the mall window shopping (although people do go to the mall in the mornings before it opens to walk...that could count). LOL--guess it's a fine line.

The awards are well-deserved, Alice!
Have fun with the fitness challenge! :)

Alice Teh said...

Thanks, Trish! Really appreciate the add. If walking the stairs counts, I'll definitely factor that in. Thanks again!

Melody, you're a gem! I'm having so much fun with the fitness challenge. :D

Thank you SO much for including me, Alice! I wanted to apologize for having been such a bad commenter lately. Life has really been getting in the way of both reading and blogging - I'm sure you know how it is. Hopefully I'll be able to keep up better this week, though. And in the meantime, thank you for remembering me!

Hi Ana, you're most welcome. Hey, don't apologize ok? :) I thank you too for visiting despite your hectic life. I do understand...

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."
