Away in Singapore: The Dead Sea Scrolls And The Ancient World

I will be traveling to Singapore tomorrow to check out the scrolls in The Living Legacy 2009: The Dead Sea Scrolls And The Ancient World exhibition. It opened on Thursday, August 27, and runs till September 20 at The Arts House. I read that Singapore is its only Asian stop and will travel to Mexico and Russia next.

If you are interested to know more about the Dead Sea Scrolls, please click here: What are the Dead Sea Scrolls?

On show are about 100 treasures, including rare books, Bibles, pottery and coins designed to show how writing forms, written texts and life evolved from ancient times. The fragments pre-date Christ and are possibly the last surviving treatises on ancient religious practices. The ones on show here are each about the size of an adult thumb. I hope to bring back photos of the trip and until then, I will be away and see you on Monday next week when I return!
