Wordless Wednesday: BORDERS "Shop & Win Contest" - I won!

Last month, I joined the "Shop & Win Contest" at Borders. Customers participate describing their shopping experience at Borders in ONE word.

I almost didn't submit mine, but hey, I thought might as well do it because there's no harm done whether I win anything or not.

When I saw Borders envelope in the mail today, this contest immediately came to mind. And I'm happy that I won! *GRIN*

The prize: A one-month Borders Passport and a Limited Edition Borders Magnetic Bookmark.

I can now go shopping and get a 15% off all full-priced books and 5% off air freight mags. Nice!

AD, Kaye, Ana, Dar, The Bumbles, Naida, Anon, Stanley, Sam, Viv, and Julia: Thanks very much!

The one word description I submitted was "EDIFYING" -- I didn't submit it immediately but walked about the mall for a while before the word struck me and I went back to Borders to submit it. :D

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."
