Shopping Spree!

BREAKFAST: Ray picked me up from home today at 10 am and together we went to One One Cafe at Taman Danau Desa to enjoy dim sum (Address: 11, Plaza Danau 2, Jalan 5/109F, Off Jalan Klang Lama, Taman Danau Desa, 58100 Kuala Lumpur; Telephone: +603 7983 1686). We ordered so much that we packed our extras: noodles (Ray's) and fish porridge (mine) for later. Thanks for the super filling and yummy breakfast, sir! Too bad, though, I did not take any photos, but I can tell you this: the dim sum is great and the ambience is nice!

SHOPPING SPREE: Before I show you what Ray bought (it's a HUGE purchase, by the way), I finally went to BookXcess (Address: L3-57 Amcorp Mall, 18 Jalan Persiaran Barat, 46050 Petaling Jaya, Selangor; Telephone: +603 7956 0455) and did some serious damage to my purse. The new books I bought ranged from MYR9.90 (~US$3, paperbacks) to MYR34.90 (~US$8, hardcovers).

I also became their member. Here's how: Just spend MYR100 or more in a single receipt and you'll automatically be a member for 3 years, and it's free! Members enjoy a discount of 5% for purchases of MYR50 and above; 10% for MYR150 and above. Not only are the books cheap, there's also MORE savings from the discounts! BookXcess accepts credit card purchases with no minimum amount imposed. Do check out their booklist to see available titles.

I was here!

  8. Eh - I just typed up some comments and then I lost everything I wrote, so now I'm re-typing it again - eh! So anyway...

Sound like you had great weekend, Alice! I just love it when you go on books shopping spree and then we have to wait to discover the mystery until you uncover the books you brought teehehe. I'm excited to see that you brought some NR's books! Midnight Bayou is my personal favorite, because the story taken place in my state ;) And the other two: Birthright and Blue Smoke was good. It sorta not 'feel' the same as her other great books IMO.

Tell Ray that he got an awesome camera! Hope he enjoy his new toy ;)

    Happy Reading, Alice!

  12. Where do I sign up, Sam? I think we both need to enrol. LOL

It's my pleasure, Azah. I'm glad you find it useful and I hope you'll enjoy your visit at BookXcess. :)

LOL Sheng! Now, you know what it takes for that to happen... I must be out of my mind. Haha!

Thanks, Nymeth! I hope you'll get Starbook and the other two you mentioned. Happy reading, dear friend!

Hi Barbara! I've achieved my book-purchase quota for the month. :)

You're right, Garando! Wow, Garandee is using a D80! I'm only using a D40 and I love it. Good luck with inheriting her camera! :D

Hi Jen, thanks for the link to your new bloggie. I'll convey your message to Ray. :)

Hi Julia! Oh... that's not good but thanks for rewriting your comment. Really appreciate it. So many people are saying nice things about Midnight Bayou and I'm happy to know it's your personal favorite! I'll pay more attention to it when I read it just because it's set in your state. :D Will also pass on your message to Ray. Thanks!

Oh... don't be, Naida... Hehe... I haven't watch the movie Chocolat (I think it's because I wanted to read the book first).

We have another Nikon gang, Andrew! D300 still remains a dream for me and you're asking me when I'll be getting the D700? You're cute. LOL. You've beaten me to the D300 goal so I should be the one asking you: When wanna get d700??? Tenji on Sunday OK ka? :D

Thanks, Josette! I sure hope that BookXcess will open a branch in Penang. Too bad they don't provide delivery service, otherwise it'll be great for you.

  18. I wish we had a store like that where i live. This is heaven. I mean look at all the books you got. I would love 2 read each and every one of them.

I simply love Nora Roberts. And the guy at the end is really cute :)

  19. Good to hear you pay extra attention to the story from Midnight Bayou. I think you will love the hero in that one! I'm surprise to see that both Midnight Bayou and Birthright is smaller then the other NR's books. Weird.. :)

And you know what? You and I need to beat up Ray and Andrew for getting ahead of owning the Nikon camera before you - the one you hungry for... LOL !

Tell Ray and Andrew to enjoy their new camera! :)

Thanks, RACHEL! I sure hope he is enjoying his camera. :)

Hi JEN, most people I know said the opposite about The Da Vinci Code. LOL.

Yay! I bought it mainly because you highly recommended Mo Hayder, Melody. :D

Hi VIOLET, I hope one day such stores will be opened at your place. I'm glad you like Nora Roberts too. :)

Hi JULIA, you got me really curious about Midnight Bayou. I already have a Nikon DSLR camera but it's just that Andrew bought the higher end one (the same one I'm eyeing).
