First bookish spendings for 2009!

I went to Kinokuniya KLCC this morning after my breakfast with Mom and Catherine. They picked me up from home and together we headed to the city. Thanks, Cat, for offering to drive!

I had wanted to use the postcard that also doubles up as a 25%-discount card, but apparently only applicable from January 5 onwards. My bad because I didn't read the text properly and thought that the offer ends the same time as the "Books Twinkle and Come Alive" promotion. The latter runs from November 15, 2008 to January 4, 2008 whereas the postcard offer starts from January 5. So I decided to wait and meanwhile, reserved the non-fictions I wanted at the Information Counter.

Not wanting to walk out of the store empty-handed I bought the following titles (something that I've been wanting to get for some time), all at 30% off and the total damage was MYR140 (~US$40).

  1. The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky
  2. The Remains of the Day by Kazuo Ishiguro
  3. Out by Natsuo Kirino
  4. The Independence of Miss Mary Bennet by Colleen McCullough
Mom didn't come out empty-handed either for she also bought herself some recipe books! We later had lunch at Little Penang Cafe which is just beside the bookstore.

I would also like to introduce my new friend, Swinger. Just who is he? To be revealed soon...
