Lunch at New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice, Jalan Gasing

PS (our self-appointed driver), Irene, Ms Kang and yours truly went out to lunch at the New Restaurant Ipoh Chicken Rice at Jalan Gasing, Petaling Jaya. This is my first time dining there even though it has been around for ages, and apparently very famous.

The restaurant was packed with the lunch crowd. What is nice about the place is that it is air-conditioned and is brightly litted. The staff is friendly and found us a table in no time. What is not so nice about that place is the food (surprise, surprise!). The chicken which is supposed to be tender, was not. The beansprouts tasted 'weird' and the rice was just so-so. The only thing that was better was the fish balls.

MSG Alert: I'm having an MSG attack now (a very, very thirsty and parched throat). In fact, I was already feeling this way toward the end of my meal. Currently drinking water non-stop and still not feeling any better.

The total bill for 4 pax came up to MYR42.40 (~US$12) -- quite pricey, in my humble opinion, for MSG-loaded food.

We were here!
1977: The year Aunty Alice was born
We're the chicken rice supermodels!
Big round fish balls
Where there's chicken
...there's rice!
Not forgetting the beansprouts, but they tasted weird
After our lunch, we all dozed off... (just kidding!)
Irene saw the cat sleeping soundly and alerted me. I quickly grabbed my camera and took this shot.

Have a great weekend, everybody! (Now for more water!...)
