A Speaking Invitation for an Executive PA Convention in 2009

I'm so very excited today when a global conference organiser contacted me to speak in their upcoming Executive PA Conference in March 2009! It was truly a pleasant surprise. Since they approached me personally, I've also cleared this with my boss and HR, so I'm good to go!

I'm excited and anxious at the same time. This is the first time I'll be speaking in a large group of audience (for 45 minutes!) and I hope I'll manage well. There will be presentation materials to prepare, and lots of thinking to do. The organiser and I have completed the preliminary arrangement. I've also selected the topic I'll be speaking on. It's going to be lots of fun! I shall tell more in due time.

Alice will be speaking in a conference! *GRIN*

  1. How exciting, Alice! I'm so terrible when it comes to public speaking. I do just fine if I'm conducting a meeting with my staff, but put me in front of a group of people I hardly know, if at all, and I am a bundle of nerves.

I look forward to hearing more about what you'll be presenting on closer to the date.

  8. Hi Wendy, I'm no good, too, when it comes to public speaking but if I never try, I'll never know what I can do. I decided to be brave and well, give it a shot. I just hope I will not shoot myself on the foot. I think I'm going to seriously need to calm my nerves on that day. Until then, I'll take one day at a time...

Now that you mention it, Flo, it IS a wonderful coincidence! LOL. It came as a total surprise for me when the organiser contacted me in Facebook. Oh life is good! Yes, cheers to the three of us!

Hi Melody, thanks very much! I'm very excited and will definitely keep everybody in the loop. :)

Thanks, Naida! You can count on me on keeping all of you posted. Just don't get sick of me yakking about it on and on. LOLOL.

    Exciting, yes, Denise!

Thank you, Andrew! See you on Thursday to watch that play at KLPAC together-gether. Hehe...

Thanks, Julia! I think a lot of us are scared of public speaking. I definitely am one of them. I think God is telling me to snap out of it. LOL. I don't think I'll ever snap out of it but gotta start somewhere. Heehee...

Thanks, Barbara! This is one awesome opportunity. :D

To ALL: I'm really grateful for your support. Knowing that you are all here with me really helps! :D

  11. iluvgreen, thanks very much!

Sheng, that's all right. We all are like that, even the pros feel nervous at the start of their presentation. I would need to muster all the confidence I could get for that day...

  14. BTW, thank you for your comment on my blog. You're right, there is no perfect school nor perfect teacher. There are ups and downs along the way. My son is just in preschool and there's still a long way to go. I can only hope for the best.

  16. Thanks for the link, Flo. I've seen her around.

I think God created a marvellous body (our human bodies) that can do wonderful things. Things that may seem impossible even. I see it as an art more than an occult. :)

  17. Thanks, Rachel! I hope to do well in the conference. As for your son, Yohan, I know he's in good hands because he has great parents. The way you handled the situation at school was good. :)

Cleomy ah Cleomy, you're saying your student always doze off 5 mins into your lecture lah, right? OK, I shall crack a joke about you. Can? *GRIN* You're right--the conference will be held in KL.

  18. It great to hear you going to start somewhere...no matter how nervous you are. Cracking jokes is good start.

You know how when people tell you that when you get nervous, just pics the audience naked. Okay..so I try that..and..nope. I don't think I want to know what that man is wearing underneath that clothes. It wasn't pretty LOL !

Great tips, Julia! I just hope my imagination won't take me down and get me laughing my pants off (oops!). I sure can imagine the guys and gals ermm... naked. You're too funny. What was the guy wearing? Polka dot tattered boxers??? LOL

    Thanks, Jen!

    B) Pink sexy brief
    C) *gasps* NOTHING!!

Well, you know, somefink like that... hehe ;-)
