Teaser Tuesdays: The Host (and the 'Butterfly Award')

TEASER TUESDAYS asks you to:

  • Grab your current read.
  • Let the book fall open to a random page.
  • Share with us two (2) “teaser” sentences from that page, somewhere between lines 7 and 12.
  • You also need to share the title of the book that you’re getting your “teaser” from … that way people can have some great book recommendations if they like the teaser you’ve given!
  • Please avoid spoilers!

Here is page 139 of The Host by Stephenie Meyer:

He didn't move; he just stared furiously while my heart restarted and my breathing evened out. I met his glare, remembering how quiet he had always been—like a wraith when he wanted.

The Butterfly Award

I received this wonderful, sweet award from Rachel of Heart of Rachel in early October. Thanks, my dear friend! Butterflies are very pretty things and I am a big fan of the big, bold and colourful ones. I am now passing it on to my bold and cool blog buddies:

  1. and back to you, Rachel

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."
