Shot Girl by Karen E. Olson (and guestblogging by the author!)

Guess what?! A package arrived yesterday at my office and when the admin helper passed it to me, my heart did a few somersaults. The package contained the latest book, Shot Girl by Karen E. Olson! I gave out silent shouts of happiness and grinned like a Chessire cat just like in Alice in Wonderland.

Karen said she sent the book as a gift last Friday and the postal services were so efficient in that it reached me in less than a week! I have never, ever receive an international delivery faster than this. Thank you, Karen, US Postal Service, Kastam Diraja Malaysia, and Pos Malaysia!

This completes my collection of all her books in the same series: Sacred Cows, Secondhand Smoke, and Dead of the Day. I've read all three and loved them all!

Shot Girl: An Annie Seymour Mystery by Karen E. Olson

The author's autograph! This is too cool—thanks Karen! You're a sweetheart...

About Shot Girl:

The fourth Annie Seymour mystery will be available in paperback from NAL/Obsidian in November.

New Haven police reporter Annie Seymour has a talent for running into trouble. So it should come as no shock when her co-worker's bachelorette party at a local club turns into a crime scene. What is surprising is that the dead bar manager on the sidewalk outside happens to be Annie's ex-husband — and the bullet shells around his body match the gun she has in her car.

Coming face-to-face with her past, Annie delves into a conspiracy involving everyone from a male stripper to a shot girl. If she wants to get the story, she'll have to escape a killer . . . before she becomes the next headline. [Source]

Karen guestblogging on November 4!

(Karen, I hope you don't mind me 'borrowing' the screenshot from your website and changed the text in the black box a bit... *GRIN*)

And that's not all. Karen will be guestblogging here on November 4, on the same day of the book release. Don't miss it! Do come by and show her your support. She has a blog too.

About Karen E. Olson:

Born in New Haven, Connecticut, I grew up in the city's suburbs. Early on, I developed a love of books and great pizza. I wrote my first "book" when I was 9.

I went to Roanoke College in southwestern Virginia to study literature. In addition to reading a lot of dead white male British writers, I worked on the school newspaper. Woodward and Bernstein had inspired me, and I still wanted to write fiction, but thought I could supplement that with a newspaper job. [Read more...]
