KL Bird Park

I had a great time at the KL Bird Park today. My friend, Ray picked me up from home at about 10.45 AM and together we headed off to shoot birds (not literally!). There were so many beautiful birds and everywhere we go, we saw peacocks and cattle egrets.

For starters, here's a peacock for you. He turned back in time for me to take a pic of his handsome face. *GRIN*

And here's the great white pelican spreading its wings!

I shall end this post with an owl (I'm heading off to bed...)
There will be MORE tomorrow, so be sure to come back to visit. Have a splendid weekend, everybody!

Notes about the KL Bird Park: It was officially opened in 1991 and is located in the serene and scenic Kuala Lumpur Lake Gardens. Sprawling approximately 21 acres of verdant valley terrain, the park is divided into 4 different zones and is the home to over 3,000 birds of 200 local and foreign species. The main feature that distinguishes KL Bird Park from any other bird parks is the concept of free-flight. (Information Source: Brochure)

  4. I went to this sanctuary-type zoo once when I was a kid and got to see a bald eagle up close. It was really neat but they closed down a few years ago. Thanks to your pictures, I wanna go to the zoo now!

  6. Oh, oh, OH! I won! Thank you so, so much, Wendy! You really made my day! Very glad, too, to know that you like the birds. My friend and I really enjoyed the birds. They're beautiful! I love all the sounds they made and the bird walk and stuff.

Hi Rachel, Nymeth and Karen! The owl's my favourite too. It was dozing but Ray managed to wake it up. It kept opening and closing its eyes. I know we were disrupting its beauty sleep but we couldn't help it. Those were a pair of sleepy peepers you saw. Hehee...

Hi Jen (ladytink), sorry to hear about the zoo being closed down. You just gave me another idea - I might go to the zoo for another fun photo shoot... Glad you like the pictures!

Thanks, Jen! I hope you're enjoying your weekend! :D

To ALL: Happy weekend! More bird photos to follow.

  10. Oh Julia... no, I didn't stand very close but quite. I used my zoom lens to do the work. I just stood there, waited for the moment and *click, click*

I did get attacked... by bird poo! LOLOL.
