This is our first family outing since Catherine and Rose's return from their holiday in Sydney, Australia. This is also the day we celebrated John's promotion to assistant vice president in his company - not bad for a 25-year-old dude who works in a reinsurance company! He treated us to a nice dinner at Sao Nam Vietnamese Restaurant in Sri Hartamas. But before that, we went for a movie at GSC 1 Utama and then light meal at Dragon-i, also at 1 Utama. I am also proud to announce that I did not make any book purchases when we went to MPH Bookstore! I think I'm getting the hang of this no-book-buying thingy...

(I like the fiery red menu)

More pics here... I wish everybody a happy weekend!

Many thanks, Wendy and Jen! I'll let John know. :)
ReplyDeleteCograts to John! And it sound like the family had great time eating :) Was those spring rolls fried? Or is that eggroll? What was in it?
ReplyDeleteCongrats to John on his promotion! Glad to see that everyone had a great time. :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Julia! Thanks, Melody! I'm not too sure... I think those were spring rolls and I can't remember what was in it... But I'll check when I get home. :)
ReplyDeleteOlla peeps, thank you for the congratulatory notes. :).
ReplyDeleteTo Julia: I bet my sister has no idea what was inside the spring rolls. I don't, either. But I can tell you with 100% accuracy that they were fried.
Nice to see you here, brother!
ReplyDeleteTo Julia: Of course I know what's inside the spring rolls - after doing my 'homework', of course. LOL. Here goes:
Hue Spring Rolls
Intricately hand-made wraps from our kitchen, then deep-fried until crispy with Chef Luong's special marinated minced prawn and chicken filling. It is also referred to as Imperial rolls.
*GRIN*
Hi John - thanks for letting me know it fried *grin*
ReplyDeleteAlice - so if they are fried then that mean it eggroll and not spring roll? But it sure look different then from the one made here. Our eggroll are usually fried golden. Maybe there different verison from here to your. Or either that, if they did have the same verison as your -- then I never seen it here :)
Thanks you both for answering my question :)
My pleasure, Julia! LOL. I think they're spring rolls... My family seems to be fond of Vietnamese food. :D
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to John on his big promotion. Glad you and your family had a nice celebration.
ReplyDeleteFood looks great. I love the cute piglet red bean pao.
Thanks, Rachel! It's always wonderful when family get together to celebrate and enjoy with one another. The cute piglet red bean pao is my favourite item. Hehee... :D
