A few minutes later, Michael called. I checked another email sent later - see below:
Dear Alice,
I offer my sincerest apologies, and hope that you understand our situation. We are forced to offer your spot in the free baking workshop to someone else.
I tried contacting you at the tel numbers house number (no answer) and H/P: old mobile no. (out of service) and even e-mailed you at old email address (bounced).
Again, my apologies.

Oh well, better luck next time! (That's OK, Michael - thanks for your call to explain to me the situation after receiving my SMS. I'm sorry I sounded a little off when I spoke to you - I was just disappointed...)

ReplyDeleteToo be very honest, Barbara, I wasn't too happy about it but I would've done the same if I were Michael. I haven't log in into that website for almost two years (I think) until recently (for the contest), so the personal particulars section was totally forgotten. My bad... :(
