Yearning for a Nikon D80

I am seriously considering the purchase of a DSLR camera and the Nikon D80 is on top of my mind. After trying out my company's D40, point-and-shoot cameras just don't feel 'right' anymore. Having said that, I'm not quite ready to part with my Canon S3 IS. That baby is as close as it gets to a DSLR. I think I'll continue playing with the IDEA of owning a DSLR, while still play with my current Canon...

Is anyone here currently using a D80 or any of Nikon's DSLR? I'd love to hear your thoughts.

  1. I haven't done more than briefly handle a DSLR, but I totally want one someday. They are so totally cool! Hope you find one you like!

  2. Not an expert when it comes to photography or choosing cameras, but as long as they produce fine pics, they're good cameras IMO! ;)

  3. I'm afraid I know nothing about cameras, but if you want it, it must be good!

  4. Thanks, Kim. The quality of pictures are really different with a DSLR and you get to experiment with lighting too. I have quite a bit I want to do...

Hi Melody, absolutely. Even the best of photographers started off with their humble point-and-shoots. Most cameras are good as-is. I'm quite picky about lenses though. :)

Hi Wendy, that's all right. I really, really want it... LOL.

  7. Hi there...was doing a search on Nikon D80 and came across your blog. I recently bought mine about a month ago and am still learning to use the new functions. At times, I miss my simple point and shoot Panasonic Lumix DMC LZ3 which I love. But the new DSLR does "shoot" a different type of photo and am loving it too. Go for it! :o)
