Katie Brazelton Discover God's bold agenda for your life. That's the main theme of the book written by Katie Brazelton, Ph.D., entitled Pathway to Purpose for Women. This is a practical, step-by-step guide in discovering how our roles, longings and experiences points us toward our life mission. It is full of biblical principles that leads us to the pathway of purpose. The author also shares her personal story towards her own spiritual growth. Every step is critical:- Forget what is behind and press on toward the goal (Heal and hope in God's plan)
- Do today what God sent us to do (Fulfilling our current roles such as daughter, sister, aunt, niece, mother, spouse, friend, employee, boss, etc.)
- Love each other as Jesus loves us (Healthy relationships)
- Seek peace and pursue it (Inner peace)
- Repent and turn away from all our offenses (Changing our ways)
- Wash one another's feet (Service)
- Walk with integrity, not duplicity (Pure motives)
- Expect God to give us the desires of our heart (Passion)
- Surrender our everyday, ordinary life before God as an offering (Surrender)
- Eagerly anticipate that that God will reveal His vision to us (Vision)
- Take courage (Fear not)
- Bring glory to God by completing the work He gave us to do (Glorify God)
All the above are well covered in the book, broken down into six parts. At the end of each chapter there are questions readers can ponder further on what they have read. Apart from the personal questions, there is also a section in the appendix dedicated to group discussion and retreat use. Meaningful quotes are sprinkled throughout. For further reading, the author provides two recommended books for each chapter.
This is a well-written book and I highly recommend this to all Christian women, even non-Christians!
