Tea is GOOD!

I have decided to make some lifestyle changes and one of it is... drinking TEA! In the past few days, I have gone on a tea trial and I love the effect it has on me. I felt calm and relaxed. I drank mostly green tea and then last night, I tried peppermint tea for dinner. I must say I enjoyed the experience. I wonder why it took me so long to like tea!

I bought the following caffeine-free herbal tea from Giant Mall, Kelana Jaya:
  1. Twinings Green Tea & Apple
  2. Twinings Peppermint
  3. Dilmah Green Tea with Lemongrass
  4. Dilmah Rosehip & Hibiscus
  5. Dilmah Pure Camomile Flowers

Some tea facts:

  • Green Tea: Rich in flavonoids, substances with powerful antioxidants properties protecting us from the harmful effects of free radicals.
  • Peppermint: An excellent digestive herbs; good for stomach pains, dyspepsia, colic, nausea, and easing cold symptoms.
  • Camomile: Relaxing and good for bedtime drink; gentle on urinary tract and soothes any inflammation there.
  • Lemongrass: Good for digestive system and also for helping to relieve headaches.
  • Rosehip: Excellent during a cold as it helps to boost the immune system
  • Apple: A good detoxifier and is full of antioxidants, antibacterial and antiviral properties.

I will still be drinking coffee (I love, love coffee) but am now aiming to cut down on its intake. I want to drink more water and now adding herbal tea to the equation. Cheers to a healthier self!

I'm a lover of green tea, Alice! I haven't tried those you listed except peppermint. So do the rest taste as good as well? ;) I tried some mango and berry teas and the taste of it are so strong.

Hi Melody, I quite like the peppermint one. Strong but nice. I haven't tried the rest... Will keep you posted of how I like them. :D

Unfortunately I could never get myself to like tea. I do drink iced tea but I don't like it hot -- something about the smell hits me wrong. It would be a nice alternative, though with all the many flavors.

As a tea fanatic, I can only say good for you. As an evening drink you might want to try Twinings Camomile and Spearmint - very relaxing,

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."
