My Name Is Red

My Name Is Red by Orhan Pamuk is the winner of the 2006 Nobel Prize in Literature. It is also the winner of the 2003 International IMPAC Dublin Award.

I have high expectation of the 508-page novel. I really do. I think it holds a great story. Intellectually perhaps, I do not measure up and that could be the reason I dislike it. There are so many good reviews of the book, I'm sure the story is great. So why is it that I have so many times succeeded in falling asleep while sitting upright reading it? Maybe I'm philosophically challenged. Although I finished the whole book by literally dragging myself into it, I didn't quite enjoy the experience. Anyway, please read it for yourself and see what it does for you.
