This week's questionOkay, even I can’t read ALL the time, so I’m guessing that you folks might voluntarily shut the covers from time to time as well… What else do you do with your leisure to pass the time? Walk the dog? Knit? Run marathons? Construct grandfather clocks? Collect eggshells?
But you are right to say that a person can't be reading ALL the time, so during those times when I am NOT reading, I do other exciting things like photography. My favourite subjects are related to Mother Nature such as landscapes, flowers, animals, etc. There was one time when I was so crazy about photography but now I've mellowed down a bit.
It also goes without saying that I love blogging. I started in March 2006 out of fun and curiosity. Along the way, I met some really good blog buddies and that spur me on even more.
I also love hitting the gym and practicing pilates and yoga. I workout faithfully for the last 5 years before I joined the new company. I'm trying very hard to get back into the habit now. The last 6 months of adjusting to the new work environment has put my fitness life into some sort of chaos but I reckon I can rectify that pretty soon.
Another major part of time filler for me is my postgraduate studies. I can't wait for it to be over and I'm aiming for completion by Dec 2008. After that, I will focus on more leisurely activities such as cross-stitching. I did a lot of those in my younger days. I would possibly start a whole new collection of jazz music and get back into playing the guitar.
As you can see, there isn't time to be thinking about being bored!
Happy BTT, everyone!

So many things to do and yet so little time, Alice! ;) Did you just mention cross-stitching?! That's one of my favourite hobbies, but regrettably to say I don't think I'm able to do those at the moment...probably when my daughter has grown up and doesn't need too much of my attention! ;)
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I did say that, Melody. I love cross-stitching. I used to do embroidery as well. And knitting... You'll get plenty of opportunity when the little girl grows up and you can start making lots of stuff for her. :D
ReplyDeleteI love photography too.
ReplyDeleteHi Chris, photography is so much fun. I'm sure you agree. :D
ReplyDeleteI love to cross stitch too and that sometimes competes with my reading! I forgot to mention photography as I am doing alot more of that to just put them on my blogs!
ReplyDeleteHappy BTT!
That's me above labled anonymous! I don't know what happened!
ReplyDeleteI learnt the guitar for a couple of months only. Yeah, I think I'd better take it up again when I'm free. It's kinda cool to be seen playing a guitar! =D
ReplyDeleteYou have no idea how much you will miss your postgrad studies once they're finished. I found myself signing up for another degree almost as soon as I'd completed the first.
ReplyDeleteYou have quite a full life!
ReplyDeleteI need to work fitness into my routine.
That was you, Jaimie! Haha. For a moment I was wondering... You do take good pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteHi Josette, it is cool playing the guitar. After stopping for a while, it'll be another time of torture getting the fingers to get use to the pain again. But no pain no gain. =D
Table Talk, do you read minds? Because that's precisely what happened to me. I enrolled in courses after courses because I couldn't seem to get enough of it. I had a feeling I might sign up for another thing right after I finished this one, or perhaps after taking a short break.
Hello Barbara, it is pretty full at the moment. I wish I could slot more in... LOL. Good luck with the fitness routine. :)
I think photography must be a great hobby to have.
ReplyDeleteI got out of the habit of exercising regularly and am trying to add that back in to my daily routines, but it's not always so easy. I hate getting up much earlier than I already do and after work I just don't feel like it . . . I must make a choice though. Exercising is something I have to do.
I love to take pictures too, how else do you think I scrapbooks? hehehe. But I don't take pictures as often as I should lately.....maybe you can help me with that? *grin*
ReplyDeleteJulia - Yen
Hi Wendy, photography is really, really nice. I wish you all the best in teh exercise department...
ReplyDeleteHi Julia, do you want to be my model? Hehehehe... I can take loads of photos of YOU. =D Or, maybe I can give you a theme each month and you have to produce 20 photos. How about that?
LOL - As most everyone in my family know, I am the one behind the camera of most of the pictures I taken. So there not many pictures of my self LOL....
ReplyDeleteSame here, Julia... but things are about to change when I take over the camera and you be the subject! Now, get ready to pose... ehehehe
ReplyDeleteThis week's BTT question was really fun. It's interesting to see what everyone likes doing with the rest of their free time.
ReplyDeleteI also need to get back into working out regularly. I can't wait for the weather to get better so I can start biking again.
I do agree with you, Karen.
ReplyDeleteI hope you'll be able to start biking soon. Enjoy! :D
OHHHHHHH I have my very own stalker to take full advandage of taken pictures of me...should I be afraid of you Alice? LOL
ReplyDeleteGood luck with the studies!
ReplyDeleteNow now Julia... a stalker doesn't seek consent, but I do... LOL.
ReplyDeleteAlice LOL! Should I be worry about that? LOL
ReplyDeleteHakuna matata Julia! LOL
