This is it, dear friends. I am so busted in my book budget I have gone to the extent of swearing not to buy anymore books (as a desperate measure) until I clear at least 50 on my TBR. The current situation is so appalling and alarming I'm putting on the red alert. This will be a sticky note for at least a week to remind myself. Please scroll down for the latest posts.

  3. Alice, I wish you good luck in fulfilling your wish although being a fellow booklover, I'm hoping you will not stop your book buying habit! LOL. ;P

  4. Oh no, Melody. Am not stopping for good. As an incentive to be able to buy again, I will need to clear 50 books ASAP! Muahahahaha!

  7. I understand how hard it is to keep a budget especially when it involves something we love.

Good luck. I'm sure you can do it.

  8. Alice, I know how you feel. I was looking at my shelves last night. I have so many books I want to read, why am I buying more? I don't think I could get through 50 without buying more, but I hope to do better myself.

  9. Hehe can't say I blame you there! I've bought too many myself when I usually just use the library.

  10. Thanks for the encouragement, Rachel! I'm determined to keep this one. :)

Hi Kristy, it's hard for me to persevere until I finish 50 but I think this will stop me from buying for at least 3 to 4 months. Good question on why buy more when one already has so many...

Hi Jen, I just wish the libraries here are as good, if not decent. I hate to say this but they're seriously not up to the standard.

I hope everyone had a good weekend!

  17. Good luck, Alice. I have tried this before and failed miserably. I hope you have better luck and a stronger conviction than I do!

  18. Good luck!

I'm still so glad there's a library in walking distance, or I'd be doomed.

  19. All the best with this. I am trying not to buy any more books this year, but have probably bought about 20 already which is rubbish. I think I might steal your idea if I am not better in February.

  20. Hello Wendy! The temptation to buy is just so, so great. I really hope I'll be able to withstand and be strong...

Hi Heather! You're indeed lucky to have the library within walking distance. I think I should include this as a prayer item as well -- a library be built nearby... and a well-stocked one to boot.

Steal away, Rhinoa. I'm glad to have a partner in crime for this (gigantic) effort. :)
