I'm currently based in Penang and is in love with her blog, books and camera. Am totally addicted to black coffee (no sugar and cream, please) and nasi lemak makes me a happy, happy girl. When not reading (or working), I’m a shutterbug using mostly my good ol' Nikon D40 (and now I'm obsessed with my iPhone) to take the photos you see here in this blog. The Amazon Kindle, Dell Mini (a Netbook), Loverboy Bear (a hunkish teddy from Vermont), and Combat Bear (a plush teddy from Rhode Island) are a few of my favorite things. RSS me. More academic reading, less leisure

After a long rest from my postgraduate studies, I am starting again this December hoping to complete the remaining subjects for my postgraduate diploma by December 2008. This will also be a part of my 2008 resolution (ahem!). Following its completion, I will then decide whether to continue on with MBA (by doing the balance of the subjects) under the same programme.

The weeks ahead will be crazy for me. I will not be reading as much fiction as I'd love to, possibly none at all, especially when I'm taking two subjects at a time. There will be plenty of academic reading but less for most other things. Having said that, I hope to read at least ONE fiction a month, if I can help myself... I also hope to continue blogging, maybe with less frequency -- will see how I cope.

Wish me luck, friends! There'll be lots of sweat in the weeks and months to come, juggling both work and studies but I think I can pull this off...

I'm sending you a good luck vibe, Alice!

Does this mean you won't be joining reading together with me and Melody anymore? *gasp*...hehehe

Thanks, Wendy, Melody & Julia!

No... of course not, Julia. I will still be joining both of you and I hope there will not be drastic change. Hehehe...

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."

- William McPherson
