Sydney-ture #3

Tue, Sep 18: We had a rest-and-relax day. Mom cooked corn and toasts for breakfast. And of course, I wouldn't miss my coffee for the world. *GRIN* It's just lovely.

We laze around at my sister's apartment for a little while more and then it was time for LUNCH! We wanted to try something Malaysian in Sydney, so we headed to SAMBAL. Here's a little something about that place:

At SAMBAL Restaurant, we offer both authentic hawker favorites and contemporary Malaysian classics, prepared with the freshest Australian produce. [...] We are open for lunch & take-away 7 days a week from 12pm - 2.30pm (3pm on Saturday & Sunday).

Address: Shop 7, 285-297 Lane Cove Road, North Ryde NSW 2113
Tel: 98897977

Some of the items on the menu are Penang Char Koay Teow, Nasi Lemak, Chicken Laksa, Penang Prawn Mee, and Chicken Satay. The stuff that we ordered were tasty although they did not taste exactly like how they do back home. I reckon that is due to the ingredients. Still, I'd give the dining experience a 4-star rating. The servers were courteous and friendly. Food was served speedily even though we were joining the office crowd at that time.

Left to right: Mamak fried noodles, curry puffs, chicken for chicken rice, cendol

With a full tummy, we went shopping at Macquarie Centre just opposite my sister's apartment. I bought a few books from Borders and Dymocks Booksellers, ranging between AUD$4.95 and AUD$9.94. Old habit die hard... Here are the titles I bought...
