Page 12, Please!

I was doing my usual morning (ritual) reading at Melody's blog and found a book meme. I'm definitely not missing out on this.

You need to:

• Pick up a book that is near to you
• Go to page twelve in the book
• Read the first two sentences and post it on your blog
• Also post the book title and the name of the author
• Tag 3 other people

I had wanted to do Dark Seduction by Brenda Joyce, but Mel has beaten me to it! LOL. Thank goodness I have a backup... (haha!) so here you go, I'm taking it from the novel My Name Is Red by Orhan Pamuk, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature 2006.

Inside, it was crowded and warm. The storyteller, the likes of whom I had seen in Tabriz and in Persian cities and who was known thereabouts as a "curtain-caller," was perched on a raised platform beside the wood-burning stove.
