BTT: School days, Golden Rule days…. (June 21, 2007)

This week's question

  • Do you have any old school books? Did you keep yours from college? Old textbooks from garage sales? Old workbooks from classes gone by?
  • How about your old notes, exams, papers? Do you save them? Or have they long since gone to the great Locker-in-the-sky?

Sadly, I did not keep any of them. I wished I did, but because our family relocated a lot, my parents decided that all old school books must go (purged). Even my then mini library wasn't spared. I had to sell all my Enid Blyton, Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys collection. Devastated I was, but I moved on. That was about 17 years ago.

I do keep recent notes and study materials from my not-so-long-ago continuous professional development or adult learning courses. I stash them in the storeroom. End of last year, I took two independent modules taught as MBA subjects (statistics and e-business) and still keep those textbooks, notes, articles, and other reading materials with me.

Happy BTT, everyone!

Book Quote:

"Books are the legacies that a great genius leaves to mankind, which are delivered down from generation to generation as presents to the posterity of those who are yet unborn."
