BTT: Parlez Vous? (May 24, 2007)

This week's question

Here’s an idea from Julie: I had an idea for a BTT question when I was taking a peek at one of my bookcases yesterday and spotted my old copy of the Aeneid in Latin sitting there. Maybe this question has already been done—but if not… Do you have any foreign language books and if so can you (still) read them?
Once upon a time, Alice tried to learn French. So she bought a French language set that comes with a book and cassette. So she learned and she learned. And she is still clueless today.

That was just about as far as I've gotten. Then I tried Japanese. Those attempts were many moons ago. So to answer this week's question, I don't think I have any...

Wait. Wait a minute, I think might have. I recently bought two Chinese books, you know, the type with lots of boxes for you to write in. I still haven't got started. I hope to, very soon. I think I'm trying to do too many things all at the same time. In case you're wondering, Chinese IS foreign to me. Even though I'm a Chinese, I can't read and write in that language, but I do speak it well.

Since I'm Chinese, Malay reading materials would be deemed as foreign. I subscribed to the Malaysian edition of Cosmopolitan. I read Malay literature. Big fan of that language. I also speak fluently. Hehe...

Happy BTT, everyone!
