BTT: Location, Location, Location, Part II (Mar 29, 2007)

Question(s) originated from here

Where do you do most of your reading? Your favorite spot? (Show a picture, if you want to!)

(And yes, I understand that these might not be the same thing--your favorite spot could be the beach, but you do most of your reading at home . . . in which case, tell me about both!)

During weekdays, I read at HOCA Cafe. HOCA is my daily (Mon to Fri) breakfast joint which is very near my workplace. Almost without fail, I will spend about 45 minutes there, reading and enjoying my breakfast.

During weekends and also weekday evenings at home, I read everywhere in the house -- study room, living room, bedroom and even washroom.

Here's a picture of my study room:

Updates on the pic: The CRT monitor is now an LCD one, and the keyboard is now black in colour

I like your breakfast thing, too - I can imagine having hot tea, a scone, and 45 minutes to luxuriate with a book!

Hi Barbara, Marianne and Melanie,

Thanks for stopping by too.

I've read your BTT for the week and my... lovely pictures of your reading spaces. I absolutely adore the classic and cosy sofas. Mariane's modern dream is cool and for me, that'll probably remained as a 'dream' simply because I can read anywhere... even on the 'throne' (i.e. loo seat, if you get what I mean...) LOL

Happy Thursday!

Book Talk

"Books give us pleasure not because they make us comfortable, though some good ones may, but because they entertain us, they make us laugh, they make us cry; they inform, persuade, disturb, convince, seduce us; they make us think, speculate, see - and we recognize what we see as true, not as the truth but as a truth in the writer's fabulous construction that corresponds to what we have observed in ourselves, or others, or in the world at large, or can conceive of observing."

- William McPherson
